For my small number of followers, I apologize for my absence. I need to keep in my thoughts that I will only succeed if I act on my passions. I have been writing. My novel Source has been in progression. Whilst I’m fighting the urge to work on another project, I know where this story is headed.

I have decided to organize this story into four parts, so it can probably be considered a collection of short stories, though the book possesses a prologue, and the central theme remains continuous. Even though a few elements are based on a dream I had, I can’t help but be inspired by true events. This includes the events of this year. I know that many horror writers will most likely write about this pandemic, I promise to keep mine unique, especially since that isn’t the point of the story. The plot is more complex.

Quick message from our sponsor:

“When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. I love the feeling when I make something with my own hands that have their own purpose. I hold a Masters in Architecture and I really like to make art in my free time and I am working as a graphic designer. If you are interested to make something for you I promise that I will enjoy and be creative 100% for your project.” Emily’s World of Design is a very reliable and fun company. As for my writing schedule, I just write when I feel the urge. I try to write every day; however, only a few hundred words escape my thoughts. I no longer write 1,000 words per day. I think this is because I possess a stable career, and I can focus on the following: quality over quantity, and popularity over revenue. Though publishing eleven Stories since 2019 is impressive for a new author, they can all be much better.

Hello, everyone. Welcome to another statement about me. Today marks the start of October, which, to me, means that this is a perfect time in life to focus on my horror writing. Source, my twelfth story, is coming along in a decent manner (though it is constantly shadowed by procrastination. I am constantly slapping myself).

I have recently re-activated my Wattpad. Since I am focused on popularity instead of on revenue, all past and future work is now free to view. (Formatted versions still on Kindle). I’m fortunate to possess stable employment, so I am now focused on quality, not quantity (though some of my stories are actually decent, if I may brag).

Quick message from our sponsor: Celebrate the holidays this year with the all new holiday collection from Scentsy! Scentsy is an amazing company that sells some amazing products! We are very well-known for our wax and warmers, but our line is longer than that! Scentsy is safe for kids and pets, plus no flame! Our products have a lifetime warranty, and it’s simple to use, if needed! https://jessnicole.scentsy.us/?partyId=12961077

When it comes to life, just in general, I’m doing well. I always remind myself that there are people who are experiencing a worse life than mine. I’m grateful to possess a stable career, a great and loving family, an engaging social media following, and an angel who appreciates me for who I am. (I love you, Gessille). While events do not always form the way I had imagined, I think they have turned out well. When something does go wrong, though, I move on to something else. Being haunted by the past will never be completely avoided; however, I can always shine a light on it.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

I’m back, for the select few that actually read these. I realize that trying to post a blog every day will force me to create shorter content, since I’ll have less to discuss. One longer one every week seems decent. I have decided to release all of my published works on Wattpad; the paid versions will remain on Kindle. The free will (hopefully) attract a wider range of readers. All future works will also be available on that platform.

I’m still working on Source. I’ll admit that I haven’t been writing as much as I should, but I have a decent idea of where part one is going. I’ll still keep the five parts under one novel, instead of splitting it into five novellas, since many people prefer longer books. Also, the story will make more sense in my formatting, though the pace of all will differ from each other.

I’ve been working on progressing my social media following. It is working; however, I dislike being forced into the “Jail” that a certain social media platform possesses. It does remind me to not take my followers for granted, though. I’m grateful for the (active) personnel who care about my work.

Quick message from our sponsor: “When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. I need to remind myself to focus on my literature’s popularity, but to also favor quality over quantity. I possess a stable income, so I can take my time. I will focus on my current projects (twenty-two that are pending), and I will practice gaining a larger following by advertising my previous works. (Did I mention that they are all now free)? I’m also focused on reading more, especially during my lunch breaks. Reading is fantastic, especially when I make time. I’ve also finished my second model home since last we spoke. It’s a nice hobby, especially when you are able to build the structures yourself. One more statement: I’m watching Antebellum this weekend, as I’ve wanted to see it for months. It should be great!

A Scary Moment/Another Writing Day

I’m going to write before I go to bed because I was busy earlier. I was searching for one of my cats in the house. It turns out that she was underneath the reclining chair, her head stuck in between bars of metal. The only way I found her in time was because I happened to check under there. It took about twenty minutes because she was completely silent. Her mouth couldn’t open from her head’s position. She was shaken, but she’s fine now. It’s a reminder to keep your leg rests up, so your pets can walk in and out with ease. It’s also a reminder to never take the small moments for granted, since you never know what can happen. Tomorrow is NEVER promised.

Quick message from our sponsor: “When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. I love the feeling when I make something with my own hands that have their own purpose. I’m still slowly working on Source, my current project. It’s a slow build, but I need to remain patient and not rush anything. I’ve made that mistake in the past. When it comes to previous sentences, I need to remind myself to not look back in the first draft (except to remember something). I just need to write, then go back and fix everything wrong. It will keep me from being too frustrated with myself.

I’m sorry; thinking about something interesting to share with you is difficult for me, even in a digital setting. I’m grateful that my posts do receive views, though a small number since this blog is still new. I need to write more, though. Let me now wander back to my dark world.

I finished the second chapter of Source. When it comes to writing, I like creating my own universe even if it takes place on Earth, in modern times. Also, even though most of what I write revolves around the minds of characters, I still try to make the plot lucid (though it doesn’t always work). My first novel His Reality made little sense, mainly because it was originally two novellas. What Happened to the Tucker Family which is my third story, made even less sense. I sounded completely insane in there, and I left an unfinished ending. I know strange endings are common in horror stories, but I could have made it make even slight sense. Oh, well; let’s look towards the future.

I think I mentioned in the past that Source is a combination of five stories set in the same plot. When it comes to writing them, I’m creating each of them one at a time. This will allow me to keep accurate continuity, and just avoid complete forgetfulness. I know I’ve made that mistake before.

I’m sorry; I still have trouble thinking of interesting things to say on here. I’ll have more as the plot thickens.

Angel on the Hill: 9/11/2020

Before I begin, I would like to take a moment to pay my respects to the many men, women, and children who have suffered the fate of death by some of the most evil individuals on the planet. I know that most organisms want to dominate their environment, but humans have taken it too far. Instead of focusing on defending pieces of land, why can’t we all just live in peace and harmony?

Now, I am proud to state that I have finished my new children’s story, Angel on the Hill. It’s going to be published tomorrow, but I won’t officially advertise it until Sunday, as that is when my initial promotion of five free days will begin. It’s a nice little story, and I hope you will like it.

I’m resuming my work on Source, the next novel. It’s going to be both a beast of a book, and a bi**h to write. Five different storylines right now exist. I’m making it easier on myself by writing one view at a time. I’m being careful to avoid both continuity errors and plot holes. This should be fun.

I do have many stories in my head, with most of the topics written for reference. I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. Some of my older stories are all over the place, but I am noticing the improvement. Just writing and reading more help to keep me in line. I do need to remember that I still have real-world responsibilities, though. I’m not yet completely lost.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

Desire for Stories

Yesterday’s brief post discussed multiple questions revolving around stories, and why people desire to create them. Many reasons come into play, depending on the person’s desires, background, motivations, among others. I thought I would share mine.

My desire to create stories stems from multiple reasons, regardless of genre. My reasons include the following: a dive into my mind, obtaining more income, fame, readers’ respect, story adaptations, and to increase my creativity.

When it comes to the genre of horror, my characters–especially the stupid ones–do not represent me, how I act, or in what I believe (for the most part). There are individuals who have admitted to being nervous around me as a result of formation of my plots. They need not worry. If I don’t like them, they’ll just die in my next story. I’m a nice person.

Quick message from our sponsor: “When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. I love the feeling when I make something with my own hands that have their own purpose. I have written a few children’s stories (though one of them has hidden meanings of a horror aspect), so I’m still becoming used to different styles of description, dialogue, and setting. To thrive is to expand your knowledge of everything imaginable.

Angel on the Hill: 9/9/2020

I’m almost finished with “Angel on the Hill,” my short story. I’m writing it along with my new novel. I’ll keep this post brief, but I would like to talk about desires. What makes someone desire to create a story? Is it for fame? Money? The desire to share what’s in a mind? Hidden compulsions? Think of some answers. It’s late, so I’ll discuss more tomorrow.

Since Christopher Nolan is my favorite director right now, I went into the theaters with high expectations. Let me state, they were met, and even exceeded. From the sound design to the color-grading, this film was absolutely fantastic; it is my favorite out of Nolan’s eleven films. My favorite scene is probably the opening, mainly for the sound design.

I’m not a reviewer, so I apologize for this vague post. I just wanted to share my very quick thoughts on Tenet. It is a 10/10 for me.

I have officially started another business through Channillo. As I publish stories on Amazon’s Kindle, I will publish the same version on Channillo; however, all profits will be set to transfer to the World Wildlife Fund, per my e-mail confirmation request with Channillo’s personnel.

I’ve been working on my short story “Angel on the Hill.” Don’t worry; I’m still eager to complete my next two novels. “Source” and “The Students” will be intense ones, for sure.

Stories

Today’s post will revolve around stories in a general sense. What makes something a story? It it the plot? The characters? The development of characters? The setting? The beginning, middle, or end? I don’t possess the answer; I’m sure no person does.

What I do know, though, is that a story usually houses a combination of the many items listed. In my opinion, genre does not matter when it comes to the many details being incorporated in a story. For romance, characters could develop by turning from a bully into a gentle-hearted lover. For science-fiction, the setting could originate on a planet, and expand to another. For horror, very subtle foreshadowing can exist, which could count as the following: a small detail in the description of a character or setting; a sentence someone says; the events of a dream.

Quick message from our sponsor: “When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. When it comes to the length of a story, it is left decided by the author. Some stories possess better flow as short stories, while others work well as novels. Most of my stories are short, but all but one have a complete ending.

When it comes to actually writing the story, I’m still procrastinating, and I’m always angry at myself after. It’s completely my fault, and I just need to change my ways for the better. As I was actually able to gain more interested readers in the past month, I need to be more efficient with the electronic wording being placed on the computer’s Word device.

Vivid Imagery

I’ll keep this post brief so I don’t bore you. (It’s also free to view, so……no reason to complain). I would like to talk about the concept of showing in a story. This is such an important part of literature, as I’m sure you all know. J. R. R. Tolkien, in my opinion, uses such imagery in the most detailed manner. (I’ve narrowed my authors, so there be many more. I’m biased).

I’ve tried my best to use vivid imagery in my books; however, it is not always simple. This is especially true when most of my wording consists of unreliable narration, since my stories are from the perspective of one or more characters; all of whom are in plots of psychological horror.

Quick message from our sponsor: “When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. I love the feeling when I make something with my own hands that have their own purpose. I hold a Masters in Architecture and I really like to make art in my free time and I am working as a graphic designer. If you are interested to make something for you I promise that I will enjoy and be creative 100% for your project.” Emily’s World of Design is a very reliable and fun company. I’ve used far more vivid imagery in my short stories than in my longer works, but that isn’t really of such importance, at least for the different styles of both horror and children’s literature. (I’m expanding genres after a few more books. Baby steps).

Angel on the Hill

I have decided to take a break from “Source” (my main horror novel/eleventh publication) to focus on a new short story. “Angel on the Hill” is the title. You may be wondering why I am switching to another short story, when I have a vast novel still mostly in my head. This is due to a very angelic person inspiring me to write this, based on a beautiful photograph of her standing in front of a hill. (Thank you, ‘Zel).

I have only a few sentences written, but I know how the story will play. I promise, this will be the last time I publish a short story on its own (still free for the first five days after initial release). All new short stories after will be published as a bundle, so that I don’t cheat the reader.

I should mention that “Angel on the Hill” is NOT a horror story. I would feel strange dedicating something dark to someone for whom I care. It’s probably not a major concern, though.

As for “Source,” I’m still on the second chapter (including the prologue). While most of this due to procrastination, I am always tempted to go back and write everything again. I’m avoiding falling victim to said temptation by just writing and not looking back (unless I forget something). The first draft is almost always terrible for writers (except for J. R. R. Tolkien’s “Leaf by Niggle.” I heard it was published as a first draft. It’s a masterpiece).

I think that’s it for now. I’m very excited for my future. I hope you all are, too.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

Horror

I would like to talk about the concept of horror, and how it correlates with what humans and other animals experience. Let’s discuss what deserves to be labeled as a subcategory of horror. To me, it is not always about ghosts, ghouls, goblins, monsters, jump-scares, slasher moments, among others. To me, true horror revolves around the unknown, and for what we perceive to be real. When it comes to writing, I will admit that even I don’t know for certain if what my characters experience is real.

When it comes to the hints of horror, unreliable narration, foreshadowing, reverse character development (meaning that the people lose touch with themselves), lack of human description, subtle, repetitive themes, among others, are what constitute this different style of horror. I try my best to incorporate these in horror genre of my writing. Though my earlier works are all over the place, these vivid themes helped play a part in creating a semi-decent story of mine.

For “Source,” it will be the darkest story I have ever written, as stated before. I promise to not hold back on anything, as long as these moments of horror make sense to the plot. I’m working on making every chapter mean something, both to me and especially to you, as a reader. Also, I know it’s impossible for a story today to be completely unique, but the style can still be brand new.; dark and mysterious, but still able to grab your attention.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

The Main Idea of “Source”

Good evening, all. This weekend has been both entertaining and sad. Tomorrow is a new day, though. I thought I would talk a little about “Source,” my current work in progress. First, this story is based loosely on a dream. By loosely, I mean that I only recall two or three things from the dream, mainly pictures. Second, this will take place in our modern age. Third, it will incorporate modern dialogue, which means that a large amount of cursing will take place during many of the conversations. (Not for sensitive viewers). Four, it will be five stories revolving around a main plot as a whole. Last, it will be the darkest story I have ever created, and I’ve written very disturbing things.

I love the feeling when I make something with my own hands that have their own purpose. This book is also going to be the longest story I have every written. There is much to tell, much to show, and much to experience. I hope you like it.

Saturday

Before I begin, I would like to pay my respects to the great Chadwick Boseman. I was never a big fan of Marvel, but I have see many of the films. Black Panther is my favorite character out of the many. He was one of Disney’s/Marvel’s biggest stars. My heart goes out to his friends and family.

I haven’t written or read today. I’ve been working on my mini-house, less than one foot tall. Tomorrow, though, I will be more productive. I would like to take a moment and talk about confessions. I want a certain person to know that just because something happened in the past, it does not mean that I care for said person any less. Being safe is what matters.

I took a break from writing today to read another chapter of a book. As many people know, reading allows someone to live many lives, visit many places, meet different people, and even fall in love many times over. As for my writing, I’ve noticed that longer books are more favored than shorter, even if both are the same price. This is making me possess the desire to change many of my future plans of writing; all of which will force me to not rush a publication. Since I’m currently employed, I shouldn’t feel the need to rush to try to make a sale. This definitely didn’t work in the past, since I had no digital following on social media. The change in my perspective has helped.

I also want to mention that I’ve noticed the hate being created on various social media platforms. While I remain neutral about most concepts of politics, I do want to state that the many terrible arguments are pointless and full of logical flaws, especially when there are more important issues to be resolved. I’m sorry for this boring blog post, but I needed to say this.

Tomorrow’s Friday, and the weekend is near; time to return to my world on the digital page, and I promise I will have more interesting things to say on here. Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

Do you ever feel as if you are wasting the moments of your life? Well, it’s how I feel most of the time. For example: even though I rise early in the morning, I always avoid doing something productive. This is a habit I am looking to break as soon as possible.

I wrote a little today, but I didn’t read. Most of it is due to poor management of time, but I also possess a busy part of my life. I’m working on five streams of income as a 22-year old. While I am proud of where I am as a person, I know that I can always do better. It’s one of the reasons why I rushed my writing so much that I had ten publications in the last year. I need to slow down and take my time. While some of my older storied are actually decent, you can tell that the rest were rushed, especially my first book, “His Reality.”

Back to the blog: I do consider “His Reality” to be something of great horror, and even I don’t know if what happened was real to Michael Nuth; however, I did learn some of what NOT to do whilst writing. My second story, “What Happened to the Tucker Family,” incorporated decent use of imagery, but I left the story unfinished. It led to my first negative review. Lesson learned.

I’m sorry if my blog posts are depressing, but this is the mind of a horror writer (at least to me). I’m making progress on my eleventh book, though, and I hope it will be a story nobody regrets reading.

I didn’t write today; completely my fault. I’ve been thinking about life today. I’ve taken the time to think of how fortunate I am to be doing what I love, even though it is not what I am doing full-time (yet). I’m very grateful for what I have been able to obtain over the past few years, even though I’m never settling for a stagnant path of potential. I’m going to continue pursuing my passions as much as possible. I’m grateful for those reading this (a small number right now). There are many things I want to do in life, and writing plays a major role in this story. I may become irritated of certain aspects of what I both witness and experience, but I know that my life could always be worse.

I finished the first chapter of “Source,” not counting the prologue. It’s coming along, but I need to keep reminding myself to just write, and worry about fixing everything after the entire draft has been finished.

I’ve been thinking of my older published stories today. I’m always tempted to delete them, but they’re a reminder that I am improving. The problem with self-publishing is that you work on your own schedule, so the urgency to publish as many works as possible is always there. I learned my lesson.

I’m keeping this short, so stay safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

I didn’t write my main stories today, but I have been working with this Writers’ Toolbox (NOT sponsored, unfortunately). Three sticks combine into a basic story. I’m taking more time writing a story, but I have many in my head now.

I resume online college tomorrow, so I’ll have to really prioritize my time, which will revolve around my full-time job. There is always time.

Overall, I do think I’m making good progress with my writing. I’ve definitely come a long way from my bloated novel “His Reality.” I’m still proud of it, though, as it was my first piece. Always be proud of the firsts in your life.

When it comes to social media, it really works for free advertising. In three days, I gained 90 followers on Twitter. I don’t know if that’s fast, but it’s more than last week. I’m grateful for that.

I think that’s it for now. Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

I wrote a little today. It’s strange, because I tried to make my dialogue sound modern, but my descriptions are detailed and, well, not simple. I’ll work on it. I bought a clunky keyboard. (Not the typewriter, since that is expensive). This will make writing more fun, and it will force me to move slower; I will have to think more about what I write.

I’m going to start collecting dioramas of houses and landscapes. Staring at them will allow me to create stories with invisible characters; it’s like they are frozen in time. These structures are small, so I can take them anywhere. Also, the mini-lights work with batteries.

My dog had a little scare today, but she’s fine now. I never like seeing my loved ones in pain.

That’s it until next time. Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

Writing in the Evening

I don’t know the reason, but I always wait until the late-evening to start writing. By then, though, I am too tired. My yawns cause the screen to become a wet blur in my eyes. I’ve been delaying my progress over the last few days, JUST because I’m concerned about my written dialogue. I still contemplate using grammar of a more proper nature, or try appealing to the modern personnel of Earth. I don’t think I can, though, since I’m so annoyed with how people speak these days.

Anyway, I always condone relaxation, but not if a lack of productivity appears. Though I increased the quantity of my streams of income over the last few days, I still feel less productive than usual. I’ll call it a night and see what tomorrow brings.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

8/20/2020 Update on “Source”

I didn’t write again, but I have done quite a lot of thinking. What makes someone write the level of horror I do? It can’t be because of my childhood, as I possessed one of a normal status. Maybe my demons are trying to escape.

Since I’ll be working from home tomorrow, I’ll have less distractions. I really want to dig into my writers’ toolbox and find a new short story idea (aside from my “The Students” series).

I have updated my Twitter account. It turns out that you gain more views by adding the hashtag statements. Who knew? I now have one follower, and I just started this morning. Call that small, but I’m proud of myself. My fan-base is still small, even after a whole year of writing and publishing, but I’m slowly increasing it. I’m grateful for everyone reading this, and for all readers taking an interest in my work.

Changing the subject, I’m still new at drawing so I will definitely need to practice for future works. Since the front-cover layout on Kindle is limited, I might just leave the cover plain, but include drawing internally. We’ll see.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

8/19/2020 Update

I didn’t write today; I’m ashamed of myself, as usual. I did read a little, though. For short story ideas, I have been using a physical writer’s toolbox (not sponsored, unfortunately). There are so many scenarios I can create for a potential story to appear.

When it comes to dialogue, as those of you who have read my stories in the past know, I’m not so great with writing natural words and phrases, especially when I’m trying to simulate modern grammar whilst remaining somewhat intelligent. It’s an endless struggle.

I’ve noticed that this blog has increased its views over the last 24 hours; I’m very grateful for them. (Please click on the ads every once in a while, too). I’m going to update this at least once a day, as my mild popularity on Facebook (not sponsored) has allowed new readers of my work to be born.

Be safe tonight, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

8/18/2020 Update for “Source”

A few weeks ago, I had a vague dream. This dream included three things I still remember: a path traveling through a dark, dead, foggy forest, and a small cabin being flooded with water from the inside. I woke up and decided to take a break from my main series on Amazon (“The Students”), and write this giant novel (“Source”). It’s the second novel so far (I’ve published mostly short stories), but this process should be fun.
