Hello, everyone. Welcome to another statement about me. Today marks the start of October, which, to me, means that this is a perfect time in life to focus on my horror writing. Source, my twelfth story, is coming along in a decent manner (though it is constantly shadowed by procrastination. I am constantly slapping myself).

I have recently re-activated my Wattpad. Since I am focused on popularity instead of on revenue, all past and future work is now free to view. (Formatted versions still on Kindle). I’m fortunate to possess stable employment, so I am now focused on quality, not quantity (though some of my stories are actually decent, if I may brag).

Quick message from our sponsor: Celebrate the holidays this year with the all new holiday collection from Scentsy! Scentsy is an amazing company that sells some amazing products! We are very well-known for our wax and warmers, but our line is longer than that! Scentsy is safe for kids and pets, plus no flame! Our products have a lifetime warranty, and it’s simple to use, if needed! https://jessnicole.scentsy.us/?partyId=12961077

When it comes to life, just in general, I’m doing well. I always remind myself that there are people who are experiencing a worse life than mine. I’m grateful to possess a stable career, a great and loving family, an engaging social media following, and an angel who appreciates me for who I am. (I love you, Gessille). While events do not always form the way I had imagined, I think they have turned out well. When something does go wrong, though, I move on to something else. Being haunted by the past will never be completely avoided; however, I can always shine a light on it.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

A Scary Moment/Another Writing Day

I’m going to write before I go to bed because I was busy earlier. I was searching for one of my cats in the house. It turns out that she was underneath the reclining chair, her head stuck in between bars of metal. The only way I found her in time was because I happened to check under there. It took about twenty minutes because she was completely silent. Her mouth couldn’t open from her head’s position. She was shaken, but she’s fine now. It’s a reminder to keep your leg rests up, so your pets can walk in and out with ease. It’s also a reminder to never take the small moments for granted, since you never know what can happen. Tomorrow is NEVER promised.

Quick message from our sponsor: “When somebody asks me what I really love to do I can answer that I love to create. I love the feeling when I make something with my own hands that have their own purpose. I hold a Masters in Architecture and I really like to make art in my free time and I am working as a graphic designer. If you are interested to make something for you I promise that I will enjoy and be creative 100% for your project.” Emily’s World of Design is a very reliable and fun company. I’m still slowly working on Source, my current project. It’s a slow build, but I need to remain patient and not rush anything. I’ve made that mistake in the past. When it comes to previous sentences, I need to remind myself to not look back in the first draft (except to remember something). I just need to write, then go back and fix everything wrong. It will keep me from being too frustrated with myself.

I’m sorry; thinking about something interesting to share with you is difficult for me, even in a digital setting. I’m grateful that my posts do receive views, though a small number since this blog is still new. I need to write more, though. Let me now wander back to my dark world.

Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.

Desire for Stories

Yesterday’s brief post discussed multiple questions revolving around stories, and why people desire to create them. Many reasons come into play, depending on the person’s desires, background, motivations, among others. I thought I would share mine.

My desire to create stories stems from multiple reasons, regardless of genre. My reasons include the following: a dive into my mind, obtaining more income, fame, readers’ respect, story adaptations, and to increase my creativity.

When it comes to the genre of horror, my characters–especially the stupid ones–do not represent me, how I act, or in what I believe (for the most part). There are individuals who have admitted to being nervous around me as a result of formation of my plots. They need not worry. If I don’t like them, they’ll just die in my next story. I’m a nice person.

I have written a few children’s stories (though one of them has hidden meanings of a horror aspect), so I’m still becoming used to different styles of description, dialogue, and setting. To thrive is to expand your knowledge of everything imaginable.

9/4/2020

I have officially started another business through Channillo. As I publish stories on Amazon’s Kindle, I will publish the same version on Channillo; however, all profits will be set to transfer to the World Wildlife Fund, per my e-mail confirmation request with Channillo’s personnel.

I’ve been working on my short story “Angel on the Hill.” Don’t worry; I’m still eager to complete my next two novels. “Source” and “The Students” will be intense ones, for sure.

I’m still procrastinating on both reading and writing, like a terrible person. I need to stop, and sit down this weekend and work. I’m clear, since all my homework is complete for the week. Tomorrow’s blog will be much longer, since it will be a movie review of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet! I finally get to see it after waiting a whole year!!!

Stories

Today’s post will revolve around stories in a general sense. What makes something a story? It it the plot? The characters? The development of characters? The setting? The beginning, middle, or end? I don’t possess the answer; I’m sure no person does.

What I do know, though, is that a story usually houses a combination of the many items listed. In my opinion, genre does not matter when it comes to the many details being incorporated in a story. For romance, characters could develop by turning from a bully into a gentle-hearted lover. For science-fiction, the setting could originate on a planet, and expand to another. For horror, very subtle foreshadowing can exist, which could count as the following: a small detail in the description of a character or setting; a sentence someone says; the events of a dream.

When it comes to the length of a story, it is left decided by the author. Some stories possess better flow as short stories, while others work well as novels. Most of my stories are short, but all but one have a complete ending.

When it comes to actually writing the story, I’m still procrastinating, and I’m always angry at myself after. It’s completely my fault, and I just need to change my ways for the better. As I was actually able to gain more interested readers in the past month, I need to be more efficient with the electronic wording being placed on the computer’s Word device.

Saturday

Before I begin, I would like to pay my respects to the great Chadwick Boseman. I was never a big fan of Marvel, but I have see many of the films. Black Panther is my favorite character out of the many. He was one of Disney’s/Marvel’s biggest stars. My heart goes out to his friends and family.

I haven’t written or read today. I’ve been working on my mini-house, less than one foot tall. Tomorrow, though, I will be more productive. I would like to take a moment and talk about confessions. I want a certain person to know that just because something happened in the past, it does not mean that I care for said person any less. Being safe is what matters.

I wrote a little today. It’s strange, because I tried to make my dialogue sound modern, but my descriptions are detailed and, well, not simple. I’ll work on it. I bought a clunky keyboard. (Not the typewriter, since that is expensive). This will make writing more fun, and it will force me to move slower; I will have to think more about what I write.

I’m going to start collecting dioramas of houses and landscapes. Staring at them will allow me to create stories with invisible characters; it’s like they are frozen in time. These structures are small, so I can take them anywhere. Also, the mini-lights work with batteries.

My dog had a little scare today, but she’s fine now. I never like seeing my loved ones in pain.

That’s it until next time. Be safe out there, and remember: not everything is what it seems.
